

Dr. Brittany McDonald, a nonprofit executive based in Pittsburgh, brings extensive expertise in corporate social responsibility (CSR), employee engagement, volunteerism, and community outreach. Combining her passion for social impact with her professional background, she founded her consulting company, BMCo., in 2020. BMCo. specializes in helping small and medium businesses (SMBs) develop effective employee engagement programs, craft CSR strategies, and leverage technology for meaningful social good.
Beyond her work with SMBs, Dr. McDonald also collaborates with nonprofits and political campaigns, supporting their fund development efforts and helping them achieve their financial goals. A recognized thought leader, her expertise has been showcased through publications in academic and professional circles, and she has contributed as a writer for business.com.
In addition to a PhD in Community Engagement, Brittany also received an MBA in International Business from Point Park University and a Bachelors of Science in Natural Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh. Her research focused on the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Millennial employee engagement. As a Net Impact Tech for Good Fellow she created a mobile app to simplify charitable giving to Pittsburgh nonprofit organizations, and founded the Net Impact graduate chapter for Point Park University.
As a nonprofit leader, Brittany is the Executive Director of Uptown Partners of Pittsburgh, a community development organization charged with the implementation of the EcoInnovation District Plan, Pittsburgh’s first and only City-adopted plan. Brittany serves as a commissioner on Governor Josh Shapiro’s PA Commission on African American Affairs. She also serves as a member of the PA State Historic Preservation Board, served as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of La Escuelita Arcoiris, a Spanish immersion early learning organization, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie of Homestead, a historic library, music hall, and athletic club, and as a member of the Board of Directors of VisAbility.
